Last Month in Nautobot – June 2025

Welcome to our monthly Nautobot community update! We’ll dive into the latest updates across the Nautobot community, highlighting the key milestones, releases, and noteworthy contributions. From new features and enhancements to bug fixes and events, there’s always something happening in our dynamic ecosystem. Open source is at the core of our values, empowering individuals and organizations to collaborate, innovate, and make a positive impact together. This monthly blog post is our way of celebrating the accomplishments and contributions of our Nautobot community members.

Releases – Stable

  • Nautobot: v2.4.10 – 2025-06-10
    • #6672 – Added enforcement of user authentication when serving uploaded media files (GHSA-rh67-4c8j-hjjh).
    • #7417 – Added protections against access of various security-related and/or data-altering methods of various Nautobot models from within a Jinja2 sandboxed environment or the Django template renderer. (GHSA-wjw6-95h5-4jpx).
    • #7425 – Updated Django to 4.2.22 to address CVE-2025-48432.
    • #7358 – Fixed web_request_context faulty logic in its try/finally block.
    • #7362 – Fixed NautobotCSVParser incorrect parsing of many-to-many fields.

Releases – LTM 1.6

  • Nautobot: v1.6.32 – 2025-06-10
    • #6672 – Added enforcement of user authentication when serving uploaded media files (GHSA-rh67-4c8j-hjjh).
    • #7429 – Added protections against access of various security-related and/or data-altering methods of various Nautobot models from within a Jinja2 sandboxed environment or the Django template renderer. (GHSA-wjw6-95h5-4jpx).
    • Added filter forms for models that were missing the filter forms to allow search.
    • #7250 – Fixed JSON and MULTISELECT custom field being returned as a repr() string when using GraphQL.

Apps Ecosystem

  • Nautobot Ansible: v5.12.1 – 2025-06-30
    • Fixed sorting for nested dictionaries.
    • Fixed virtual machines are now grouped by role and manufacturer.
  • Nautobot App SSoT: v3.9.0 – 2025-06-26
    • A new VMware vSphere integration!
    • CVE-2022-42969 has been successfully fixed!
    • Sync and sync logs are now searchable in the global search!
    • The example Jobs now support synchronizing Tags on appropriate objects between Nautobot instances.
    • All integrations that utilize the contrib pattern will automatically support Object Metadata being added to their models.
  • Nautobot App Netbox Importer: v2.2.0 – 2025-06-13
    • #197 – Added NetBox v4.2 support.
    • #207 – Added tagging all Nautobot instances with issues.
    • #208 – Added customizations option to the import_netbox command.
    • #201 – Changed import order to allow console server ports imports.
    • #215 – Changed TaggedObjects import to support NetBox V4.

  • Nautobot Ansible: v5.12.0 – 2025-06-05
    • Added VRF parameter to device_interface & vm_interface.
    • Added new options to inventory_item module.
    • Added functionality to deal with module interfaces.
    • Fixed unsorted lists comparison for idempotency.
    • Added ability to rename host inventory variables using patterns. 
    • Added secrets_group to device module and integration tests. 
    • Added galaxy version check to lint tests.
  • Pylint Nautobot: v0.4.1 – 2025-06-03
    • Added support for Nautobot prerelease versions in is_version_compatible.
  • Nautobot App Device Lifecycle Mgmt: v3.1.1 – 2025-06-03
    • #465 – Fixed large traceback being generated in the logs when a 404 was raised.
